SCM is bound by the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) outlined in Schedule 3 of the national Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act), and aims to comply with the Privacy Act and with any applicable current or future laws relating to privacy, data collection and the use of information.
We are committed to the protection of your privacy and the personal information you disclose when you access our Website.
1. How we collect information from you
The information about you that we may collect may be collected in the following ways:
(a) Personal Information you give us
We may receive and store information that you actively provide to us. There are a number of ways you may provide us with your personal information, including (for example) you registering as a registered as a user of the Website.

We rarely ask for sensitive information, but may do so occasionally (for example as part of a competition, promotion or survey).
We will not collect or disclose sensitive information unless you have consented to the disclosure of such sensitive information, or the collection of the information is specifically authorised or required by law.
When you enter a competition through the Website, you may be required to provide information to satisfy the entry conditions. If the competition is sponsored by a third party advertiser (Advertiser), you may be prompted to opt-in to receive further promotional material from the Advertiser. If you consent to this, then at the end of the competition, we will provide the information on your entry form to the Advertiser.
(b) Information collected automatically - "cookies" and "clickstream" information
Whenever you visit the Website our servers automatically record information about your usage of the Website through ‘cookies'.

Under no circumstances will your personal information ever be used, shared or analysed by us, other than in accordance with this policy.
(iii) Our employees, contractors and agents
We may also provide your personal information to our commercial sponsors, advertisers and business partners (our Partners). Subject to receiving your prior approval, our Partners may send you information about their products or services.
2. Security of your information
(a) Information transmitted and stored electronically
Your personal information will be stored in a number of secure computer storage facilities based in the USA and around Australia, and in local hard drives located at our offices across Australia. We have taken precautions to ensure that your personal information is protected from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. For example, we attempt to keep our server secure and free from unauthorised access and use by implementing a variety of technologies to prevent unauthorised access to the server.
Due to the nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will always be secure during transmission or storage. We will take all reasonable steps to keep our server and transmissions to and from our server secure, but we are unable to absolutely guarantee security of your personal information. There will always be a risk of unauthorised access to your information and we will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorised access to such information. Please contact us if you become aware or have reason to believe that there has been any unauthorised access to or use of your personal information.
Once we no longer need your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information.

Where practical, you may deal with us on an anonymous basis. However in some circumstances if you do not provide us with your personal information, we may not be able to provide you with the requested product or service (for example, if you enter a competition and do not provide us with your details, we cannot contact you to provide you with a prize if you are a prizewinner).
5. Children's privacy
As an additional protection, all people under the age of 18 must obtain the consent of their parent or legal guardian before accessing the Website, particularly where personal information is being provided to us.
